The Hog's Bison

by Paul Georgiou

A physicist pig

took to wife a young cow.

His father said:”Now

tell me why, son,

when all’s said and done,

why go for a cow,

when there's many a sow

you could try, son?"

The young pig replied;

"I thank you, indeed,

for your years of advice on

how best to succeed.

but it’s time to confide,

pig to pig, man to man,

I'm consumed by the need

to breed if I can

the thing that no creature has ever laid eyes on,

the thing that all physics has put a high price on,

the essential, but strangely elusive, hog's bison."
